Evaluna's Birthday
E sono diciotto, la maggiore età è finalmente arrivata. Evaluna festeggia a Dublino con il fidanzato dai lunghi capelli. Il nostro regalo: una visita alla fabbrica della Guinness con bevuta legale (mostrando la carta dello studente) a seguito. Una volta tanto beve alle nostre spalle!

Eighteen. Now she is an adult. She is in Dublin with her long hair fiancé. Our present: a visit at Guinness Warehouse with a glass (hope not a pint) of beer at the end. This time is legal and on us!

Sarto/Taylor
Il nostro sarto ha un sak yant. Non capisco da chi se lo sia fatto fare. Si vocifera di un santone (non un monaco) a Kathu che utilizza ancora i bastoncini di bambù. Controllerò.

Our taylor has a sak yant on his back. I cannot understand where he did it. There are rumors of a magical man (not a monk) doing it at Kathu in the old way with bamboo sticks. I have to check it .

Fra pochi giorni, il 31, si festeggia l'anniversario dell'Indipendenza. La Malesia ha un anno meno di me! Giovane lei o vecchio io? Bandiere ovunque.

The 31st would be the anniversary of Independence Day. Malesia is one year younger that me! Old me or young nation? Flags everywhere.

Chi scrive di viaggi non vede l'ora di poter esclamare: la città dai mille contrasti, dalle variegate sfaccettature e via dicendo . KL è il futuro che verrà, già presente. Come la maggior parte delle metropoli del Sud-Est asiatico. Il futuro è qua. Basta guardare.

Travel writers will bore you with the usual definitions: the city of thousand contrasts and so on. KL is the future already present. Like most of the South-East metropolis. The future is here. Just look at it.

Nok
Nok significa uccello. E la passione per gli uccelli canterini a Phuket è contagiosa. Questi giovanotti stanno portanto il loro campione da 10.000 Baht a una competizione canora. Chi trilla più volte (e intonato) in un minuto vince. Nota Bene che sono in 3 sul motorino più gabbietta e uno solo porta il casco.

Nok means bird. And in Phuket the passion for singing birds is huge. These young guys (3 on the scooter and only 1 with helmet) are going to a singing contest with their champion worth 10.000 Baht. The one who sings more time in a minute wins.

Blue Siam
Abbiamo scoperto un nuovo angolino dove godere il tramonto. Si chiama Blue Siam ed è a Bang Tao. Niente male no?

We found a new spot for our sunsets. The Blue Siam at Bang Tao. Not Bad!!!

Fiori/Flowers
Le piogge di quest'anno hanno portato via tutta l'erba del backyard. Siamo alla ricerca di pietre, vasi e fiori. E abbiamo trovato una fiorista che ha quello che ci serve: piante che sopravvivono all'ombra. Peccato che qualsiasi cosa le chiediamo costa 150 Baht. E se vuoi lo sconto si mette a piangere!

The last year rains completely washed out our backyard grass. We are looking around for stones, pots and flowers. We found a nursery perfect for us, with plants which can grow in the shade. The only problem is the young lady who owns it. Any price we ask is 150 Baht, and she starts crying if we want a discount!

Nonostante il nome, Bangbang appunto, questo bambino è rimasto alquanto impressionato dalla mia macchina fotografica, una minuscola Canon G10. Clicclic ecco la foto!

Bagnino/Lifeguard
Attenti alle correnti sottomarine che ti portano al largo. Ogni anno qualche frescone di turista crede che le bandiere rosse siano per i Thai e finisce disperso nonché affogato. Eppure il servizio di guardacoste è migliorato tantissimo. Guarda che coppia di bagnini a Naiharn!

Be careful of ripcurls. It's only a minute to be far away from the beach. Every year there are several tourists thinking to be better than a red flag ending lost or drawned. Nothing to say to the lifeguard service. It's really improved. Have a look at this two Naiharn's lifeguards|

Ancora sole, inframezzato da nuvole e un po' di pioggia. Vale comunque il motto: tutti al mare, tutti l mare a mostrar le chiappe chiare.

Sun again. With some clouds and some showers. But sunny. Unbelievable. As an old Italian song tune: all together to the sea, all together to the sea to show our clear ass...

Tutto il mondo è paese e non poteva mancare una Harley posteggiata di fronte ai bar trendy di Soi Romanee nella Old Phuket Town.

This is Soi Romanee, a little road in Old Phuket Town with trendiy bars and, obviously, Harleys parked in front of them.

Orchids
Non c'è stata pioggia (fantastico) ma il giardino regge. Merito di Grazia. Se fosse per i nostri giardinieri avremmo un piccolo Sahara attorno a noi.

There was no rain (fantastic) but the garden is still alive. Merit of Grazia. If we leave it at our gardeners maintenence we will have a little Sahara around the house.

Back in Phuket
Eccoci di nuovo a casa ed è bello essere accolti dal solito Maffo. Anzi Maffa, dimenticavo.

Here we are. Back home. A wonderful experience to be welcomed by Maffo the toad. Sorry, Maffa as we recently found.

Seduta di meditazione con il monaco Tiku al Wat Pra Gert. Due ore fantastiche. Meditate invece sul motto al Wat Pra Singh. L'ignoranza è il vero demone. Che abbiano letto i titoli dei nostri quotidiani?

Meditation course at Wat Pra Gert with Tiku, an old monk. Two wonderful hours. Meditate on the motto found at Wat Pra Singh. Ignorance is the real evil. Maybe they red our newspapers.

Nai Yang
Che dire. Ristorantini locali con i tavolini sulla sabbia, il Parco Nazionale Sirinath a fianco, le onde giuste per il surf e una scuola di kite surf (che verrà presto provata). La nostra nuova scoperta vale un bis. Appena rientreremo dal Nord.

What to say. small Thai restaurants on the sand, the nearby Sirinath National Park, the good waves for surfing and a kite surf school (to be tested soon). Our new discovery needs a bis. Once we will be back from the North.

Let's Surf
Finalmente sulla tavola. Surfare è cavalcare l'onda. Cominciamo con le piccole, al ritorno dal Nord si va su quelle serie. Grazie amico hawaiano Kurt!

Finally on the wave. Surfing. We started with the little ones, and then, back from the North, we will try the biggest ones. Thanks to my Hawaian friend Kurt.

Cherngtalay Wat
A volte basta sentire i monaci salmodiare. Mezz'ora dalle 18:30 in poi. E' un bel cantare.

Sometimes you just need to hear the monks chanting. Half an hour from 18:30 on. It's a beautiful singing.

Un piccolo paradiso in terra. Basterebbero questi due semplici cartelli per capire: birra fresca e un motto da imparare a memoria.

Coral Island
Un must della vacanza. La gita a Coral Island per snorkeling e bagni senza onde tra pesci tropicali. Si va con un long tail boat e si passa la giornata in spiaggia.

One of the must of the holiday. The trip to Coral Island to snorkel and swim with colourfull fishes. You get a long tail boat and spend all the day on the beach.

2nd of August

Evaluna va/goes back
Torna dal fidanzato la nostra bambina. E a noi toccherà fare i fidanzatini per un po'! :)
Accompagnata all'aeroporto abbiamo controllato che  (come da cartellone) non portasse con se né durian né pistole!

Our baby is back to her boyfriend. And us? Now we have to live as fiancés!:)
At the airport we checked (as in the signboard) that she wasn't carrying any durian or weapon!
